Hi I'm JA.
For as long as I can remember, I've wanted to pave my own path. I had big dreams, but I spent years scared of being judged, trying to fit in, and wondering if I would ever be enough.
Growing up, I was bullied, constantly criticised, and made fun of. I used to laugh along with everyone else because I thought it would make it less embarrassing, but it hurt all the same. I was the girl who was never picked first for the team. The girl who always felt different. If I was loud, I was "too much." If I was quiet, I was "too weak." It felt like no matter who I tried to be, I could never be enough for everyone around me.
For years, I let other people's opinions become my own. I questioned my worth, my confidence, and whether I truly belonged.
Then, in an instant, my life changed.
I broke both of my ankles in an accident in the Blue Mountains. For ten weeks, I couldn't walk. I relied on a wheelchair, a portable toilet, blood-thinning injections, medication, and the people around me for almost everything. I couldn't climb the stairs to my bedroom, so I couldn't even sleep in my own bed. I had to let someone else shower me—one of the most vulnerable moments of my life.
It wasn't just my body that was broken. I lost my confidence, my independence, and the belief that I could still create the life I dreamed of.
Healing didn't happen overnight. It has taken me four years to rebuild myself—physically, mentally, and emotionally. My ankles will never be the same, but they remind me every day of how far I've come.
The women in my life carried me when I couldn't carry myself. They reminded me of my worth when I had forgotten it. They believed in me when I had stopped believing in myself. Without them, I don't know where I would be today.
As I healed, I realised something.
My story isn't unique.
There are women all over the world carrying pain that no one else can see. Women who have been bullied, rejected, betrayed, underestimated, or made to feel like they would never be enough. Women who have lost themselves while trying to survive. Women who are still searching for hope.
My heart aches for every one of them because I know what it feels like to believe you're alone.
That is why I created Femina.
Not simply to create jewellery, but to create a community. A place where women can feel seen, supported, and reminded that they are stronger than they know. A place where every woman is welcomed, celebrated, and encouraged to become the person she was always meant to be.
If you don't have women around you who remind you how incredible you are, I hope you find them here.
Join the Femina Sisters community. Share your story. Heal with us. Grow with us. Rise with us.
Because no woman should ever have to walk through life alone.
With Love.
